The resort speaks for itself with access to the world's largest skiing area, the "3 Vallées" with an altitude of 660-3230m. 600km of runs, 124km of cross country, 200 ski lifts, 25 summits, 6 glaciers, 16 villages and resorts all with easy links between them for beginners, 1500 snow cannons and the largest panoramic scenery in the alps from the "Cime de Caron"  with 1000 peaks in front of you.

Val Thorens sitting at an altitude of 2300m it is the highest resort in Europe.  Built in the early 70's the resort offers a warm village atmosphere: walking through the resort, you will see a chapel, a charming square with its stone fountain and wrought iron signs. In the evening, the lively atmosphere in the streets makes it very friendly.  Val Thorens now offers high quality accommodation inspired from the Savoie architectural style of stone and wood.  There are many restaurants, mountain restaurants, bars/nightclubs, shops and boutiques it would take too long to name them!
This being a pedestrian resort gives the feeling of well-being and clean air, with traffic only able to go the accommodations to unload.  Parking is controlled in many of the open-air or covered parking areas with a free shuttle service to take you back to your accommodation.   Contact "Valthoparc" on 0033 479 000 249 to reserve your parking space before you arrive.  Due to the altitude extreme weather conditions can set in fast, make sure you refer to your vehicles guide if you are using one of the open carparks to protect your car from the winter temperatures.
A long ski season which opens from November to mid May, with most accommodation being ski in- ski out you can access the slopes without losing any time.  Many activities are on offer - snowshoeing, paragliding, ice fall, snowmobile, large sports and health centre and the longest sledging run in Europe.
